Kick-off of the GenAID Project – Generative AI aiding in Product Development

29.09.2025

We are excited to announce the official start of GEN AID, a three-year Erasmus+ project uniting partners from University of Ljubljana, Faculty Of Mechanical Engineering, Politecnico di Milano, Technische Universität Wien, Technische Universität Darmstadt and University of Zagreb / Sveučilište u Zagrebu (FSB ZAGREB). The project explores how Generative AI can support product development and reshape higher education.

Objectives

GEN AID will equip engineering students with skills to use Generative AI effectively – from prompt creation to critical evaluation – while promoting its ethical adoption. Educators will gain tools and open resources to apply these methods across disciplines through project-based learning.

Implementation

In 3 years, 150 students from 5 European universities will tackle real-world product development challenges in industry-driven projects and workshops. Results and resources will be shared via exhibitions and an open-access platform.

Expected Results

Year 1: Build a knowledge base of GenAI tools.

Year 2: Develop a methodology for curricula and prompt engineering guidelines.

Year 3: Establish an ethical AI framework and cross-disciplinary educational materials.

LECAD laboratory proudly joins as a partner, contributing expertise in testing tools and building best practices. The kick-off meeting successfully set the stage for collaboration and innovation. Together, we are building the foundation for the responsible and impactful use of Generative AI in education and industry across Europe.
